<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve stability of laser output by preventing burnout or deterioration of an active medium. <P>SOLUTION: An end cap 24 is formed as a nearly cylindrical body of a diameter approximately equal to the outer diameter of a holding part 66 of an oscillation fiber 22. Its base end 24a is integrally fusion welded or fusion bonded to an edge 22a of the oscillation fiber 22 and its front end 24b is cut obliquely with respect to the optical axis. A returning ray fb' of oscillation light reflected by an optical resonator mirror 34 converges and enters a core end 60a of the oscillation fiber 22 which is arranged in the focal position of an optical lens 28. However, since the core end 60a is integrally bonded to the end cap 24 and is not exposed to the air, it is neither burned nor deteriorated by the optical energy of the ray fb' of oscillation light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
