<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion device excellent in durability which can prevent permeation of moisture from a closely contacting portion between an insulating substrate and a coating layer, and a manufacturing method of such a photoelectric conversion device. <P>SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion device 10 is configured in such a way that a laminate having at least a first electrode layer 2, a photoelectric conversion layer 5, and a second electrode layer 7 is laminated on an insulating transmissive substrate 1. Bare base 30 having no laminate is provided on a periphery 16 on the surface of the insulating transmissive substrate 1, and a coating film 17 is provided for coating one part or the entire of the bare base 30 and the laminate.
