PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power system for vehicle drive which improves energy efficiency, mounting a capacitor. SOLUTION: The power system for vehicle drive is equipped with a main battery B1, a capacitor 40, an auxiliary battery B2 which is lower in power voltage than the main battery B1, a DC/DC converter 50, and a controller 30. The controller 30 controls the DC/DC converter 50 so that the auxiliary battery B2 may be charged by the energy that the capacitor 40 accumulated, according to the stop instruction of the vehicle, in case that the power reception of the main battery B1 is limited. Preferably, the controller 30 controls the step-up converter 12 to step down the voltage of the capacitor 40, according to the stop instruction, and outputs it to the side of the main battery B1 thus charging the main battery B1 or the auxiliary battery B2.
