PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique suitable for eliminating bacteria in the air in a region, such as a kitchen, where a refrigerator is placed though there is a technique for sterilizing a vegetable storage compartment in a refrigerator with atomized electrolytic water. SOLUTION: A sterilizing unit includes an electrolyzing part for generating electrolytic water containing hypochlorous acid, a sterilizing element which has an air passage formed between sucking element parts for sucking up the electrolytic water generated by the electrolyzing part, and an air blower for generating forced air passing through the air passage. The sterilizing unit is placed on the top surface of storage to send the forced air passing through the air passage to the front of the storage, and the operation of the sterilizing unit is controlled by a door switch of the storage.
