PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary brush device capable of preventing banding due to the nap fall of a brush when it is not used for a long period of time and deterioration in picture quality due thereto, and an image forming apparatus equipped with the same. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus having a photoreceptor, a charging device, an exposure device, a developing device, a transfer device, and a cleaning device is equipped with the rotary brush device. The rotary brush device is equipped with a brush type member 11 which turns in a state abutting against the photoreceptor 2 and also equipped with a pressing member 12 which abuts against a part of the brush type member 11 other than the part that the photoreceptor 2 abuts against during the stop of rotation to press and shape it.
