PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device such as electronic paper, in which increase of power consumption is reduced while providing the device with a flexible property and visibility in a dark place is improved. SOLUTION: The display device is constituted of successively stacking a substrate, a first electrode, a cell, a second electrode, and a protection member, the cell is held between the first electrode and the second electrode, the cell includes charged particles having photoluminescence in its surface or inside, and the charged particles are moved by an electric field generated between the first electrode and the second electrode.
