An instrument panel display system (1) for mounting on an automobile converts pieces of information including information on the automobile into images and displays the images in a composed manner on a liquid crystal panel (7). The system has a vehicle system (11), an amenity system (12), and a safety system (13) that create data for displaying the images and also has a section (3) for combining and outputting images for an instrument panel, the section (3) composing data created by the systems and outputting the result as composed image data to the liquid crystal panel (7). The section (3) for composing and outputting images for an instrument panel is an image composition LSI (large-scale integration) (6). Composed image data outputted from the image composition LSI (6) is an RGB or YUV signal.
