摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing type vehicle detector and an image processing type vehicle detection method for eliminating influence of headlight beams for stably detecting a vehicle head position when a vehicle is photographed from the front side.

SOLUTION: This image processing type vehicle detector is provided with a vehicle head detection means 121 detecting a vehicle candidate rectangle showing the vehicle position from a photograph image of the vehicle on a road for detecting the vehicle head position, a headlight lighting determination means 123 determining whether a headlight of the vehicle is turned on or not, and a vehicle head detection correction means 122 correcting the vehicle head position based on the results of the vehicle head detection means 121 and the headlight lighting determination means 123.
