PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid droplet discharge device capable of effectively performing restoring action of a recording head while suppressing heat generation from a driving circuit. SOLUTION: Vibration is applied to the meniscus of the liquid around the nozzle, applying only a not discharging drive pulse for not discharging liquid droplets to the recording head 30, when temperature t°C around the recording head 30 obtained from a thermistor 80 arranged in a head holder 9 is judged to be lower than a predetermined temperature s°C in a step 4, when the restoring action of the recording head 30 is performed. Preliminary discharge action is performed, applying preliminary discharge pulses not relating to the discharge to a medium to the recording head 30 only by the pulse number fewer than the not discharging drive pulse per unit time, when the temperature t°C is judged to be higher than the predetermined temperature s°C. That is, the restoring action of the recording head 30 is selected according to the heat generation quantity by the drive of the drive circuit 49, thereby the load to the drive circuit 49 is reduced to suppress additional heat generation.
