PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with various methods of using a macro mechanism, in an imaging optical system that detects a focus by branching an incident luminous flux within the imaging optical system. SOLUTION: The autofocus lens device includes: a branching means 14 disposed in an optical path on the image side of a first focus lens group 11; and a focus detecting means 16 for detecting a focused state by using a luminous flux from the branching means 14. An accumulating means 17 carries out automatic focusing by controlling the drive of the first focus lens group 11 via a focus drive means 18 based on a signal from the focus detecting means 16. A second focus lens group 15 is disposed in the optical path between the branching means 14 and the imaging element 31.
