PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve effective melting control of miscellaneous solid waste by taking metal powders into consideration. SOLUTION: The molten metal level control method in a volume reduction facility of low-level radioactive waste includes a molten metal level detection procedure s1001 for detecting a molten metal level in a melting furnace of the reduction facility, a level determination procedure s1002 for determining whether the detected molten metal level is raised to a prescribed region or more or not, and a temperature lowering procedure s1004 for lowering a melting furnace temperature when the molten metal level is determined to be raised to the prescribed range or more by the determination.
