PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and suitably set the length of a time for forming deflection on recording paper. SOLUTION: A printer 100 is provided with a first conveying control part 391 for forming deflection by pressing the recording paper to a resist roller 230 during stopping by also continuously driving a conveying roller 220 during a deflection formation time after the recording paper reaches to the resist roller 230; a second conveying control part 392 for conveying the recording paper to a downstream side of the resist roller 230 by driving/starting the resist roller 230; an index time measurement part 392t for detecting a time (index time) passed until the recording paper reaches to a fixed sensor 250s after the resist roller 230 is driven/started; an index time optimum value memory part 331 for memorizing the optimum value of the index time; and a correction execution part 330 for correcting the length of the deflection formation time according to difference of the detected index time and the optimum value.
