PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of preventing any damage caused by abrasion of rim flange with a marker provided in an area in contact with the rim flange. SOLUTION: A stepped recess 5 is formed in tire outer wall faces S1, S2 in contact with rim flanges 7f, 7f'. A projecting marker 6 which is raised from a bottom of the recess 5 with its raising height being substantially equivalent to the depth H of the recess 5 is formed on the inner side of the recess 5.
