<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte improving high-temperature characteristics and a battery using the electrolyte. <P>SOLUTION: A separator 23 is impregnated with an electrolytic solution containing a solvent and electrolytic salt. The solvent contains a sulfone compound represented by Formula: R1-(O=)S(=O)-CH=CH-R2 (R1 denotes an alkyl group having 6 or fewer carbon atoms, an alkenyl group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, an aryl group having 6 to 14 carbon atoms, a group expressed as -CH=CH-R3 (R3 denotes hydrogen, or an alkyl group having 4 or fewer carbon atoms), or a group obtained by replacing at least a part of hydrogen atoms of the above groups with halogen atoms, and R2 denotes hydrogen, or an alkyl group having 4 or fewer carbon atoms). This enables suppression of decomposition reaction of the electrolytic solution, even under a high-temperature environment, so that the battery offers superior characteristics, even if left standing under a high-temperature condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
