<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery improved in a rate characteristic and a cycle characteristic. <P>SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided with a positive electrode using a mixture of (1) Li(Mn<SB>a</SB>Co<SB>b</SB>Ni<SB>c</SB>)O<SB>2</SB>and (2) Li(Mn<SB>d</SB>Co<SB>e</SB>Ni<SB>f</SB>)O<SB>2</SB>, where a and b are each a number not smaller than 0; b, d, e and f are each a number greater than 0; a+b+c=1; d+e+f=1; and c<f. It is preferable that (1) is LiCoO<SB>2</SB>, and (2) is Li(Mn<SB>x</SB>Co<SB>y</SB>Ni<SB>z</SB>)O<SB>2</SB>, where x, y and z are each a number greater than 0.2 and x+y+z=1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
