<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination light communication device that suppresses the variations of light intensity of illumination light when using a power line and the illumination light for transmitting data, and performs communication using the power line and that using the illumination light satisfactorily. <P>SOLUTION: When data to be transmitted are transmitted through the power line, a filter 12 extracts a signal component, and a power line demodulator 13 demodulates the signal component to acquire the data. A protocol converter 14 stores the acquired data temporarily. Then, the data are converted to protocols for optical communication, and the blink or the quantity of light of a semiconductor light-emitting element 16 is controlled according to data transmitted by a light source control section 15, thus modulating the illumination light, and hence transmitting the data by utilizing the illumination light. As a modulation system for optical communication, a multipulse PPM system can be used where a state having pulses and that having no pulses are set to OFF and ON, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
