<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect an operator's operation even in a power-saving mode in addition to the minimization of power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: An optical sensor 22 for detecting the insertion/extraction of a paper feed tray, and an optical sensor 19 for detecting the opening/closing of a cover each detect a state of an apparatus; a sensor power supply part 49 supplies electric power to both the sensors; an operation control part 61 controls the operation of the apparatus on the basis of output information from both the sensors; an operation-part power supply part 72 supplies the electric power to the operation control part 61; an image processing part 42 performs the processing of predetermined information, and controls the power supply part 72; a sensor change detection part 47 monitors a change in the output of the sensors; the supply part 49 intermittently supplies the electric power to both the sensors when the supply of the electric power to the operation control part 61 is stopped; and the information processing part 42 supplies the electric power to an operation part 60 from the power supply part 72, when detecting a change in the output of the detection part 47. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
