<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the printing capability of an image forming apparatus by changing a recording paper condition by which a conveying speed is reduced, in the case where the current consumption is low in the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus including at least: one or more current detecting means for detecting the current consumption of the image forming apparatus; and a recording paper discriminating means, a fixing condition is changed based on the discrimination result by the recording paper discriminating means. When the detected current consumption of the image forming apparatus is sufficiently lower than the rated current of a commercial power supply or the image forming apparatus, the type of the recording paper is changed for changing the fixing condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
