<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method etc. for an optical film which reduces fluctuations in optical performance. <P>SOLUTION: This manufacturing method for the optical film is characterized as follows: a polymer solution, in which a high polymer is dissolved in a solvent, is cast onto a substrate, and separated from the substrate after the solvent is volatilized; and a value N expressed by expression 1 is set to be in the range of 20-19,000. In expression 1, σ represents the rate of change of the surface tension (dyne/cm<SP>2</SP>) of the polymer solution with respect to a temperature (°C); h represents the thickness (μm) of the polymer solution during flow casting; β<SP>s</SP>represents the temperature (°C) of the polymer solution immediately before the flow casting; β<SP>a</SP>represents either (°C), which makes a difference between the temperature β<SP>s</SP>and an environmental temperature or the temperature of the substrate greater, of the environmental temperature or the temperature of the substrate during the flow casting; and ν represents the viscosity (Pa s) of the polymer solution during the flow casting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
