PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording device which can maximize the accommodation amount of waste ink or ink mist occurring by a recovery processing means or in the process of preliminary ejection, marginless printing, or ordinary printing, by securing only a minimum capacity. SOLUTION: The ink-jet recording device is composed of a waste ink counter means for storing count data for counting the amount of waste ink and ink mist at every specific time period, holding waste ink count data of the amount of non-evaporative components after the lapse of the specific time period, and eliminating waste ink count data of the amount of evaporated components. The waste ink counter means is formed of a recovery processing counter 117, a preliminary ejection counter 118, a marginless ink counter 119, and an ink mist counter 120.
