摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a color conversion time without having to increase power consumption and suppress color tracking, when input image data are converted into image signals for a multiple primary color display device to display an image. SOLUTION: A color conversion apparatus converts tristimulus values XYZ into data for the multiple primary color display device and is provided with a first processing means for converting the tristimulus values XYZ, on the basis of a linear programming, building a classification model by using this result and a non-base (<SB>n</SB>C<SB>n-3</SB>*2<SP>n-3</SP>type) among combinations of base/non-base as learning data, and generating a 3*3 inverse matrix of the corresponding base as a 3*3 color conversion matrix; and a second processing means using the built classification model and the inverse matrix, to obtain the maximum non-base combination from the tristimulus values XYZ of input, and executing calculation by the matrix corresponding thereto. For the three primary colors at the base, a color conversion matrix is created by a predetermined color conversion matrix forming method, and colors are converted by using the color conversion matrix formed.
