PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure the inner diameter of a circular bore before formation of sprayed coating. SOLUTION: Before the sprayed coating 7 is formed on a cylinder bore inner face 5, a rough surface 13 is processed to enhance an adhesion degree of the sprayed coating 7. Continued after the processing of the rough surface 13, an inner diameter measuring face 19 smoother than the rough surface 13 is processed in the lower end part of the cylinder bore inner face 5. The inner diameter of a cylinder bore 3 is measured on the inner diameter measuring face 19 by an inner diameter measuring device 9, and based on the measuring result, the thickness of the sprayed coating 7 to be formed subsequently is made appropriate.
