PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator improved in maintenance of a supercooling state. SOLUTION: This refrigerator having a storage compartment 10 for cooling food received in a space 65, comprises a cold air circulation space 66 formed around the space 65, a heat insulating layer 70 formed between the space 65 and the cold air circulation space 66, a cold air discharge port 57 for discharging the cold air of a freezing temperature to the cold air circulation space 66 to cool the inside of the space 65 to a freezing temperature zone lower than 0°C, and a cooler 4 producing the cold air discharged from the air air discharge port 57, and indirectly cools the food while keeping the space 65 at a temperature lower than 0°C. According to this cooling method, the generation of temperature distribution inside of drinking water can be controlled, and unexpected release of supercooling of the drinking water in a supercooling state can be prevented.
