A method of preparing a compound of formula (III), comprising reacting a compound of formula (I), with a compound of formula (II), thereby producing the compound of formula (III). Compounds of formula (III) can be used to manufacture implantable or insertable medical devices, as a coating of medical devices, as artificial vascular grafts, as medical drug eluting articles and as drug eluting coatings.
