<p>Provided are an expansion valve where noise caused by acoustic resonance is reduced by making resonance characteristics of piping adjustable, where the piping is connected to a restriction section and is filled with substantially liquid-like refrigerant, and an air conditioner using the expansion valve. The expansion valve has a valve body (1), the restriction section (18) formed inside the valve body (1), two piping connection sections (11, 12) connected across the restriction section (18), and at least one opening (30) for releasing a refrigerant flow path to the outside of the valve body (1). The refrigerant flow path runs from the piping connection section (12) to the restriction section (18), and the piping (19) filled with the substantially liquid-like refrigerant is connected to the piping connection section (12). The valve body (1) is constructed such that a resonance regulator (31) can be installed on the outside of the valve body (1) so as to communicate with the opening (30). The resonance regulator (31) has a resonance space for regulating resonance characteristics of the piping (19) filled with the substantially liquid-like refrigerant.</p> |
