IMAGE DATA GENERATION METHOD

Provided is an image data generation method capable of effectively performing intra prediction of respective sub blocks and reducing the time required for intra prediction. For this, simplified intra prediction for the n-th sub block is performed in a block process cycle (n). However, execution of all nine prediction modes requires a plenty of time. Simplified intra prediction is executed by using almost all the period of the block process cycle (n). Among sums of absolute values of differences between predicted images and initial image values of image UP to be encoded which are obtained in each mode, some of the smaller values are selected to narrow the prediction mode.
