<p>A media stream relay device and a method thereof are provided to adjust the output of a buffer even in intermittent transmission, in which a packet representing silence is not transmitted from a media communication terminal in a packet switching network, and to transmit audio encoded streams to a circuit switching network continuously. A media stream relay device(1) comprises an audio packet control part(13), a judgment processing part(18), a stream control processing part(16), and a multiplexed data creating part(17). The audio packet control part(13) having a buffer to absorb fluctuations on a packet switching network receives audio packets, rearranges the received audio packets on the basis of their header information, extracts audio encoded streams, and stores the extracted audio encoded streams in the buffer. The judgment processing part(18) judges whether audio encoded streams can be acquired from the buffer, and outputs a judgment result. The stream control processing part(16) acquires and outputs audio encoded data from the buffer if audio encoded streams can be acquired from the buffer. When it is impossible to acquire audio encoded streams from the buffer, the stream control processing part(16) makes and outputs an audio encoded stream representing silence or noise. The multiplexed data creating part(17) multiplexes audio encoded streams and outputs them to a circuit switching network.</p> |
