A method for acquiring packet billing information with respect to an SIP-based VoIP call is provided to control billing with respect to an origination SIP terminal based on packet amount information included in a bye message received from the origination SIP terminal when an SIP call is terminated between the origination SIP terminal and a destination SIP terminal. An INVITE message is received from an origination SIP terminal. A 100 Trying message including transmission period information of a keep-alive ACK message is transmitted to the origination SIP terminal. When an SIP call is established between the origination SIP terminal and a destination SIP terminal, a keep-alive message including billing information is received according to the transmission period from the origination SIP terminal. When the SIP call is terminated, final billing information received from the origination SIP terminal is transmitted to a certain billing server.
