<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical wireless system for improving network throughput and increasing a data transmission rate. <P>SOLUTION: This optical wireless system comprises a plurality of optical nodes 2 to be accommodated in an optical hub 1 and uses an optical beam for communication. In time-sharing mode, this system alternately switches between a discovery state allowing the optical hub 1 to detect an optical node 2 under its control and a user communication state allowing communication between the optical node 2 detected in the discovery state and the optical hub 1.
