APPARATUS FOR DRIVING SOLID-STATE IMAGE SENSOR AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for driving a solid-state image sensor and driving method thereof in which the solid-state image sensor of an electronic multiplication type can be driven so as to obtain a stable multiplication gain at all the time even when a gain variation occurs in accordance with the passage of time or conditions for practical use.

SOLUTION: The apparatus for driving the solid-state image sensor comprises: a generation means (35) for generating a driving voltage (VDRV) having an amplitude for obtaining a predetermined multiplication gain in the electronic multiplication type solid-state image sensor (20); a calculation means (26c) for calculating a variation in a case where the multiplication gain of the solid-state image sensor (20) varies in accordance with the passage of time and the conditions for practical use; and a correction means (26d) for correcting the amplitude of the driving voltage (VDRV) outputted from the generation means (35) on the basis of the variation calculated by the calculation means (26c) so as to obtain the predetermined multiplication gain.
