COLOR FILTER AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter wherein a spacer part is highly accurately formed in a region where the spacer part does not spoil display quality, and the color filter which has excellent display quality, by a simple method.

SOLUTION: The color filter has: a base material; a light shielding part formed on the base material in a pattern shape; a colored layer formed so as to cover the inner part of an aperture part partitioned by the light shielding part; a transparent electrode film formed so as to cover the light shielding part and the colored layer; a protrusion part for controlling liquid crystal alignment formed on the transparent electrode film in a pattern shape; a layer for patterning for forming the spacer part formed on the transparent electrode film by using the same material as the protrusion part for controlling liquid crystal alignment; and the spacer part formed on the layer for patterning in a position corresponding to the upper part of the light shielding part. The surface of the layer for patterning has liquid repellent properties and the spacer part comprises a bead composition layer including beads and a resin.
