PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a honeycomb structure in which its properties including the coefficient of thermal expansion in each direction inside and outside the surface can be made uniform, and a method for manufacturing the honeycomb structure. SOLUTION: A plurality of cells 1a are formed in a honeycomb core 1. Each cell 1a is formed from a plurality of cylindrical cell members 2. The cross section of the cell member 2 is a regular hexagon. The cell member 2 has a cylindrical skeleton part 3 made of a carbon fiber braid (knitting) and a resin part 4 incorporated into the skeleton part 3. In a plurality of the cell members 2, the sides of the cell members adjacent to each other are fused. A plurality of cores are used to manufacture the honeycomb core 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
