The method involves providing back-lining of a plastic sheet with a support section (24) made of plastic. A molded part made from the plastic film and the support section is removed from a mold cavity. The molded parts are subsequently processed in a region of an edge, of a vehicle door opening (18) limiting a surface for forming a bevel (32), where the edge is turned towards a vehicle outside. The bevel is served as an approach ramp for a cover sealing device (34), during a stroke movement of cover units (20), where the movement takes place during the closure of the cover units.
