<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for reforming a fuel, where a large scale facility and severity in operational management are not required, and treatment of a waste liquid produced when purifying a residual amount of a catalyst and an enzyme etc., are also not required, efficiently reforming fuel thereby; and to provide a method for reforming a fuel. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for reforming a fuel comprises a cylindrical container 21 having an outer electrode 27 on the outer peripheral face, a center electrode 22 installed by passing it through the container 21 in the longitudinal direction at near the center position in the cross-section of the container 21, an AC voltage applying means for applying an AC voltage between the outer electrode 27 and the center electrode 22, and a liquid fuel supplying means by which a hydrocarbon-based liquid fuel flows in from one end of the container 21 and flows out from the other end. Where the hydrocarbon-based liquid fuel is reformed with plasma generated between the outer electrode 27 and the center electrode 22 by AC voltage. The surface of the center electrode 22 has concaves and convexes where the spaces between the center electrode 22 and the outer electrode 27 are almost the same, and the concave and the convex portions exist repeatedly in the longitudinal direction of the central electrode 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
