PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a karaoke system for comfortably singing it even for a foreigner, while viewing lyric telop or ruby (FURIGANA: Kanji is converted into Kana) other than one's own language without need for performing troublesome operations at selection of music or during performance by a user, or effectively learning foreign language by singing of the foreign language other than one's own language, according to the nationality of the user. SOLUTION: The karaoke system with a ruby display function comprises preparing of the phonetic symbols of a plurality of languages as the ruby, added to the lyric telops in prescribed karaoke musical pieces; extracting ruby information of the language corresponding to the nationality information, based on the previous registered nationality information of the user, when the prescribed karaoke musical piece is selected by an arbitrary user acquired by a user ID in the karaoke system, capable of displaying any one of the languages; and adding the ruby of the language, corresponding to the extracted ruby information in the lyric telops, during the performance of musical pieces selected by the user.
