PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate discrimination between normal/abnormal of a region of interest by improving the display capability of a low-speed area obtained by tissue doppler imaging. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic diagnosing apparatus displays a color image of a tomographic plane related to tissue motion. The apparatus includes: an extract means for extracting a Doppler signal according to the motion of a tissue from an echo signal; and a speed calculating means for calculating velocity data concerning the motion of the tissue for respective sample points on the tomographic plane on the basis of the Doppler signal, wherein a desired low velocity band in the measurable band of frequencies of the Doppler signal, which is limited by a pulse repetition frequency of the ultrasonic pulse signal, is assigned to each gradation data of a value within a predetermined range. The apparatus further includes: a velocity converting means for setting a scale so that the remaining velocity band of the Doppler frequency band is assigned to gradation data of a fixed value, and converting the velocity data into the gradation data according to the scale; and a display means for coloring and displaying the gradation data converted by the velocity converting means.
