The invention relates to a method and to a sensor arrangement for operating a vibrating gyroscope which represents a resonator and is part of at least one control circuit that excites the vibration gyroscope by feeding an excitation signal with a resonance frequency (F0) of the vibration gyroscope. An output signal can be tapped from the vibration gyroscope from which the excitation signal is derived by filtering and amplification. In a first step, the vibration gyroscope is excited by an excitation signal to oscillate freely and a measuring signal of the sensor arrangement which is dependent of the frequency of the excitation signal is detected, and in a further step, the frequency of the excitation signal is modified in accordance with the measuring signal in order to determine the resonance frequency (F0) of the vibration gyroscope. |
