<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic substance constituting a ferrite core provided on a winding coil, which substance is excellent in high frequency characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic substance consists of ferrite containing as chief-ingredients Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, NiO, CuO, and ZnO and as sub-ingredient Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>; SiO<SB>2</SB>-EO-A<SB>2</SB>O-based glass (E: Ba, Sr, Ca and/or Mg, A: Li, Na and/or K) of 1.5 to 3.0 pts.wt with respect to 100 pts.wt of the ferrite; and cobalt oxide of 0.1 to 0.7 pts.wt, reduced to Co<SB>3</SB>O<SB>4</SB>, with respect to 100 pts.wt of the ferrite.
