<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a device and a method for controlling a printing to print a label surface when data are backed up to a non-volatile storage medium with the printable label surface. <P>SOLUTION: The printer has a reading means for reading an original and generating image data, a first printing means for printing an image on a printing medium, a storage means for storing data in the non-volatile storage medium with the printable label surface and a second printing means for printing the image on the label surface of the non-volatile storage medium. The printer further has a mode selecting means for receiving the selection of a backup printing mode and a control means for storing the data to be backed up in the non-volatile storage medium when the selection of the backup printing mode is received, printing the image based on the data to be backed up on the printing medium and reading the printing medium with the printed image and printing the image displayed by the generated image data on the label surface of the non-volatile storage medium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
