<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple, inexpensive method for refining gallium where gallium comprising metallic elements such as iron, nickel, potassium, calcium and silicon as impurities is refined, so as to obtain gallium in which the contents of these impurities are extremely low. <P>SOLUTION: Gallium 16 comprising at least one kind of metal selected from the group consisting of iron, nickel, potassium, calcium and silicon as impurities, and water are charged to a vessel 10, the temperature in the vessel 10 is regulated, so as to be held to the one at which the gallium 16 is melted, and further, the temperature of the interface between the gallium 16 and the water 18 is held to the one at which the gallium 16 is solidified, thus precipitates are precipitated on the interface between the gallium 16 and the water 18, so as to remove away the water 18 and the precipitates from the vessel 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
