A room lamp (1) fixing structure having a temporary fixing means provided for a room lamp (1) and a ceiling trim (2) and a permanent fixing means provided for the room lamp (1) and a ceiling framework of a car body. This construction includes a ceiling trim (2) having a recess (22) for accommodating the room lamp (1), the recess (22) having its side surface inclined so as to become gradually narrow from the opening portion to the bottom portion, and a room lamp (1) having in its side surface a guide projection (101) for positioning the room lamp (1) and the ceiling trim (2) by abutting against the slant side surface (23) of the recess (22) during the permanent fixing. This structure allows the guide projection (101) to abut against the slant side surface (23), and thereby the room lamp (1) and the ceiling trim (2) are positioned.
