The system has bearings (2, 3) including recesses for retaining a crankshaft (4) and drive shafts (5, 6), respectively. The bearings are formed as a single-part such that the system forms a monolithic component. The bearings are arranged parallel to each other, where an axle of the crankshaft runs parallel to another axle of the drive shafts. A bearing half is formed by a bearing cover (12) that is arranged in a cylinder block. The cylinder block is clamped by screws (16a, 16b) between a cylinder head and the system. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a bearing system.
