THE PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

A plasma display panel is provided to form easily patterns of grooves and to improve withstand voltage characteristics by forming a dielectric layer with a first dielectric layer having a strong chemical property and a second dielectric layer. A front substrate(111) is disposed opposite to a rear substrate(121). A barrier rib(130) is disposed between the front and rear substrates in order to define a plurality of discharge cells. A plurality of pairs of sustain electrodes include X electrodes(131) and Y electrodes(132) which are disposed from each other on the front substrate opposite to the rear substrate. A front dielectric layer is formed on the front substrate in order to cover the pairs of sustain electrodes. The front dielectric layer includes grooves. Two grooves are formed in each of the discharge cells. The dielectric layer includes a first and second dielectric layers(115a,115b). The barrier rib includes first barrier rib parts extended in parallel to the pairs of sustain electrodes and second barrier rib parts connected with the first barrier rib parts.
