<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of the possibility of occurrence of oil leakage. <P>SOLUTION: In a sealing device provided with a screw on an atmospheric side sliding surface of a seal lip which is brought into slide-contact with a rotational shaft, the atmospheric side sliding surface of the seal lip is formed to have a wide curve in a direction passing a seal lip tip and separated from a surface of a member in slide-contact with the lip toward the atmospheric side, a portion from the lip tip to a raised part of a predetermined height, which is formed at a desired position away from the lip tip, is connected to form the screw with triangle cross-section, and a ridge line of a ridge of the screw is linearly formed. A screw part constituted by gradually increasing the height of the ridge as the ridge is away from the seal lip is formed at the atmospheric sliding surface. Since the ridge line of the ridge is in a straight line, a space between the shaft and the seal lip can be maintained so as to suppress dangerousness of guiding dust intruded therein to a contact part of the seal lip tip and thereby to prevent the leakage caused by biting of dust with respect to the seal lip. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
