<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the development cost of a newly developed apparatus, to shorten its developing period, and to miniaturize the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In a power supply apparatus comprising a high-voltage power supply unit 600 and a high-voltage control rectifying unit 400 for controlling this, the unit 600 receives a driving signal transmitted from the unit 400, and generates an output on the basis of the driving signal and supplies the output to a load. Further, the unit 600 detects the status of the generated output and transmits it to the unit 400. The unit 400 receives the detection status, generates the driving signal on the basis of the detection status in order to cause the unit 600 to generate a predetermined output, and transmits it to the unit 600. In this case, the unit 600 and the unit 400 can be arbitrarily connected with each other or disconnected.
