METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SPHERICAL OR HEMISPHERICAL SINGLE CRYSTAL OBJECT AND SPHERICAL OR HEMISPHERICAL SINGLE CRYSTAL OBJECT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a spherical or hemispherical single crystal object, with which a Z-axis (optical axis) can highly precisely be decided with simple work.

SOLUTION: A direction of the Z-axis of single crystal becoming a material is previously measured, and a plate single crystal base metal 2 having an X-Y plane which is orthogonal with the Z-axis is cut. A plate identification material 3 which can be identified from the single crystal base metal 2 is bonded to the X-Y plane of the single crystal base metal 2 so as to obtain a bonding material 40. The bonding material 40 is divided, a polyhedron 41 in a size comprising a spherical object 6 to be manufactured is cut and it is formed into a spherical shape. In the formed spherical object 6, a bonding face 63 of a crystal part 61 formed of the single crystal object and an identification part 62 formed of the identification material becomes a mark showing the X-Y plane orthogonal with the Z-axis. The spherical object 61 in which the X-Y plane is set to be an orientation flat 63a can be obtained by peeling the identification part 62.
