<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical control element which suppresses insertion loss more than before and operates with a lower driving voltage. <P>SOLUTION: The optical control element having a crystal substrate 1 having electrooptic effect, an optical waveguide 2 formed on the substrate, and a modulating electrode for modulating light passing through the optical waveguide is characterized in that an infrared transparent conductive film 12 made of composite oxide of Ti and In is used for at least one of a signal electrode 3 and a ground electrode 4 constituting the modulating electrode. Preferably, at least one of the signal electrode 3 and ground electrode 4 has an at least two-layered structure consisting of the infrared transparent conductive film and a metal film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
