PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact electromagnet device while ensuring predetermined magnetic efficiency. SOLUTION: This electromagnetic relay comprises a base 10; an electromagnet block 20 constituted to form one end of an iron core 30 wound with a coil 21, as a magnetic pole part 31 while caulking and fixing the other end 32 to a vertical part 41 of a yoke 40 of L-shaped cross section, and mounted to the upper face of the base 10; a movable iron piece 50 turning based on excitation and demagnetization of the electromagnet block 20; and a card 80 reciprocated through the movable iron piece 50 to drive a contact mechanism part 70. The upper face of a horizontal part 44 of the yoke 40 is provided with a shallow groove 45 along a length direction to extend along the outer surface of the wound coil 21.
