PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide having airtightness in the inserting part of an optical fiber and having thermal resistance that can withstand the baking process of a hermetically sealed container, in a light guide using an optical fiber bundle applicable to a device that requires airtightness such as a vacuum device, and also to provide a light irradiation apparatus using this light guide. SOLUTION: In the light guide 11, an airtight sealed part 15 is formed by inserting the optical fiber bundle 12 into a sleeve 14, by thermally melt-sticking the sleeve 14 and the optical fiber bundle 12 at a prescribed position, and further by joining, using a metallic solder, the outer circumferential face 14a of the sleeve 14 to a through hole 13a of a light guide fixing member 13.
