PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens array capable of preventing the deterioration of image quality even when forming a high-resolution image, being easily manufactured and maintaining stable optical characteristics. SOLUTION: In the lens array where a plurality of rod lenses having refractive index distribution in a radial direction are arranged so that their optical axes may be parallel with each other, the ratio r<SB>0</SB>/r of the radius of the rod lens is set to≤0.9 assuming that the radius of the rod lens in such a state that the refractive index distribution is formed by ion exchange treatment is defined as (r) and the radius of the rod lens in such a state that all or a part of the outer periphery part of the rod lens is removed thereafter is defined as r<SB>0</SB>. By using such a means that the outer periphery of the rod lens is removed, a stage is simplified and also the high-resolution lens array is obtained while maintaining the accuracy thereof as an optical component.
